Beauty was never meant to be rare.

It was meant to be lived with.

About The Art

My work is rooted in the belief that beauty matters. In a world filled with concrete, convenience, and mass production, I create art that reconnects people to meaning, intention, and wonder. Through bold color, layered textures, and expressive mark-making, I aim to bring small glimmers of truth and divine inspiration into everyday spaces. My paintings seek to bridge the intangible and the tangible—the spiritual and the physical—so that a room becomes more than just a place to live or work, but a place that nourishes the soul.

Working primarily in mixed media, I combine collage elements from vintage books, hymns, and meaningful text with spray paint, expressive drips, and textured surfaces. These layered foundations are then refined with oils, allowing each piece to hold both raw energy and thoughtful intention.

The process mirrors life itself: messy, bold, imperfect, and full of unexpected beauty.

More About Taylor

Taylor’s artistic journey began long before she ever considered calling herself an artist. One of her earliest memories is sneaking downstairs at six years old to watch late-night Bob Ross reruns, captivated by his “happy little accidents.” That sense of joy and possibility stayed with her. As a child she drew constantly, later teaching herself graphic design through hours spent creating artwork for an online community. Creativity remained a consistent thread throughout her life through drawing, painting, music, and dance.

Though she initially planned to pursue graphic design professionally, Taylor’s path shifted as she dedicated several years to nonprofit work with a Christian missions organization, where her faith deepened and she met her husband, a fellow creative. Throughout those years she continued making art for friends and loved ones, often gifting paintings and handmade pieces to bring beauty into their homes.

Only in recent years did painting fully reclaim its place in her life. Through intentional study and practice, Taylor began refining her skills and rediscovering the joy of the creative process. A breakthrough moment came with a painting titled Peace and Calm from Above, where she recognized the growth in her ability and the deeper calling she felt toward painting.

For Taylor, art is both a process of discovery and an act of gratitude. Through painting she learns more about herself, her faith, and the beauty woven throughout life. Her work lives between the whimsical and the powerful—surreal yet grounded, bold yet restorative. With vibrant colors, layered symbolism, and expressive textures, her paintings are designed to bring energy, wonder, and emotional renewal into the spaces they inhabit.

Taylor creates for people who value beauty and meaning—those who desire their environments to reflect depth, inspiration, and connection. Through vibrant color, layered symbolism, and expressive textures, her work invites viewers to pause, breathe, and rediscover wonder in the midst of ordinary life. Ultimately, her hope is that when someone encounters her work, they experience a quiet moment of reflection—a reminder that beauty, creativity, and the divine still weave themselves gently through the everyday spaces we inhabit.

“Beauty has a way of reminding us that life was never meant to be merely functional, it is meant to be filled with wonder.”

— Taylor Chey

Beyond her personal studio practice, Taylor is also working toward a larger vision: creating a place where others can experience the joy and healing of creativity for themselves. She dreams of cultivating a space filled with specialty coffee, conversation, creativity, and spiritual reflection—a gathering place where art, faith, and community intersect. In this space, people will be invited not only to experience beauty on the walls, but to step into the creative process themselves, rediscovering the wonder of making something meaningful with their own hands.
